Laboratory Benchtop PH Meter

Laboratory benchtop pH meters are laboratory devices for determining pH and millivolt readings of liquid samples. When hydrogen ions move in aqueous media, the combined pH electrode captures their activity and turns it into electric signals. The signals are transmitted to the device, where they are calculated, amplified and validated step by step. An analog-to-digital (A/D) converter then outputs the final readings on a digital display. The electrical responses produced in this whole process abide by the Nernst equation.

1.To ensure precise pH detection, calibration is a vital step, and you need to conduct three-point calibration using standard buffer solutions.

2.The whole testing workflow is divided into pre-operation, measurement and post-operation work. Prior to testing, activate the electrode and check its condition. Next, prepare test samples, submerge the electrode, launch detection, record stable values and finish the test. Upon completion, clean the electrode and place it in storage.

3.Regular maintenance centers on electrode care and instrument protection. For temporary storage, keep the electrode immersed in 3 mol/L potassium chloride solution or special preservation solution. For long-term idle use, dry the electrode thoroughly before storage. The meter should be kept dry and calibrated periodically. Always put on the protective sleeve right after use.

4.When contamination occurs on the electrode, select appropriate cleaning agents based on the pollutant type for treatment.
