The Portable Turbidity Meter (WGZ Series) is a professional optical testing instrument developed based on the scattered light principle, specially designed to detect the turbidity of water and transparent liquid samples. This portable turbidity meter works by measuring the scattering intensity generated by insoluble suspended particulate matter in the liquid, so as to realize accurate quantitative analysis of suspended substance content and objectively reflect the turbidity level of the tested sample.

Maintenance and Calibration
Calibration of portable turbidity meters mainly includes zero point calibration and slope calibration with one or more standard solutions. Most new-style instruments are equipped with one-touch automatic calibration function.
Different models support calibration from 2 points to 5 points. All standard calibration solutions have valid service life, and the validity period of polymer standard solutions is generally one year.
For daily maintenance, users need to keep sample cuvettes clean and rinse them in time after use to avoid leftover algae and sediment. Most devices feature auto power-off power saving design, which will shut down automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity. Proper battery maintenance is required. Some models have low battery reminder to inform users to charge or replace batteries in time.
During long-term operation, attention shall be paid to the service life of built-in light source. The service life of some light sources can reach over 100,000 hours. Once light source performance declines, testing accuracy will be affected, so users need to recalibrate or replace the light source as required. The instrument shall be stored in proper surroundings, away from direct strong light, severe vibration and strong electromagnetic interference.
Portable turbidity meters are generally fitted with self-diagnosis and fault prompt functions. Common error prompts, corresponding causes and solutions are listed as follows:
● "Close cover and press Read": Make sure the cuvette cover is tightly closed before testing.
● "Low battery": Charge the device or replace new batteries immediately.
● "Low detector signal": Caused by improperly placed cuvette, dirty cuvette or faulty light source.
● "Over range"/"Below range": The measured value exceeds instrument measuring range. Dilute samples or switch to a suitable range.
● "Check lamp": Indicates possible light source failure.
● "Over temperature, power off": Stop using the instrument and place it aside for natural heat dissipation.
● "RST: Average value": System prompt under fast sedimentation turbidity testing mode.
